ABOUT CITY DENTAL CENTER FACILITY & STAFF
Form and function. Beauty and purpose. When it comes to dentistry, Dr. Lion Berzin believes there should be no compromise.
An award-winning doctor who has received recognition for his work in implant dentistry, pharmacology and oral maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Berzin combines more than two decades of experience to create the gorgeous smiles and functional, natural-feeling teeth his patients dream of. After graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, Dr. Berzin brought his talents north to enhance smiles and lived in London, England. From there his dentistry world tour continued to Toronto, where he’s been practising since 1998. Because of his international background, Dr. Berzin places an emphasis on belonging to numerous prestigious domestic dentistry organizations as well as the most esteemed international organizations.
He is a member in good standing of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Ontario Dental Association and The Academy of Osseointegration. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry, and an Honored Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Though these achievements and accolades would be more than enough for any dental surgeon, Dr. Berzin is in constant pursuit of further information and education on evolving dentistry procedures and technology, especially when it comes to implant dentistry. It equips him to undertake the full implant procedure, including bone management, placement of implants and final restoration. To effectively help patients deal with stress and anxiety, Dr. Berzin has years of experience with sedation dentistry, employing inhalational, oral and intravenous sedation modalities.
Though Dr. Berzin is consumed by the art and science of dentistry, the driving force behind his daily pursuit of perfection is his commitment to his patients. While preserving and maintaining a patient’s natural teeth is of paramount importance to him, he recognizes there are limitations to this. He understands that the pain and discomfort of having missing teeth or imperfect, impermanent dental work can be both physical and emotional. When it comes to implant dentistry, Dr. Berzin sees himself as being in the business of restoring freedom and he can have patients out of his chair and into the world with a bright new smile in as little as one day. He knows how important it is to laugh with friends and share meals with loved ones. He works tirelessly so you can smile with pride and confidence.
