Getting your teeth cleaned is important as it reduces irritation and inflammation due to bacterial growth that can lead to heart disease or stroke.
According to a study conducted in Taiwan, those who get their teeth cleaned by a dentist or hygienist have a 24% lower risk of experiencing a heart attack, as well as a 13% lower risk of a stroke compared to those who had never received a professional dental cleaning.
According to Emily Chen, M.D., “Protection from heart disease and stroke was more pronounced in participants who got tooth scaling at least once a year.”
