Benefits of Visiting a Dentist

Cosmetic Dentistry

There are a variety of cosmetic dental procedures in dentistry that some dentists are capable of providing. Many procedures require specialty training or surgical measures, where an oral surgeon or orthodontist may be called upon. A consultation session will be required before cosmetic dental service can be provided.

Tooth Removal

Depending on how problematic the tooth decay has become, such as extensive decay, tooth removal is typically suggested. If it has reached that point, removal eliminates the threat and a tooth replacement could be provided to replace the tooth. The removal may be done through either a simple or a surgical method.

Regular Dental Check-Ups

A checkup helps in preventing any future issues regarding your teeth and gums. Regular dental checkups will also maintain good oral health. Call City Dental Centre to schedule a regular dental checkup.

Education On Proper Dental Hygiene

Information on proper dental hygiene isn’t that widespread among people. A common practice is to just brush your teeth once a day without necessarily flossing. While it seems simple, it can become an issue as time moves on. Consulting a dentist can help you make a personalised dental hygiene routine, which can significantly help maintain good oral health.

Preventive Dentistry

Preventive dentistry is a treatment that prevents any dental issues that may occur in the future. A variety of dental practises are used to prevent the spread of infections and maintain teeth’ health. A custom, thin, tooth-colored casing known as a veneer may be used to protect and strengthen the tooth. In other cases, some dentists prefer using tooth crowns because of their durability and protection.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Your first visit often takes a short amount of time with little treatment. The dentist or hygienist will clean the oral area and suggest advice regarding oral healthcare, dental developmental issues, and many others. Your questions will be addressed by the end of the appointment and further follow-up appointments if necessary.

You can expect a full oral health evaluation, a formal meeting, and usually a cleaning on your first visit to determine any potential dental care required. You are also free to ask about different treatments, services, or general information regarding our practice.

A general dentist is on the frontline of dental healthcare. They educate patients on how to avoid dental problems in the future. They also diagnose, attend, assess, and manage patients’ oral health, including gum care, root canals, fillings, crowns, and bridges.

Both an oral surgeon and a dentist can perform extractions, with the process being very quick. They can use local, general,  intravenous anesthesia, or a combination. If the case is notably more severe, the procedure may become more extensive.

Recurring visits to the dentist can help you keep your teeth and gums healthy and clean. During these checkups, your dentist will assess your oral health and search for areas that may need attention. They will also clean your teeth that remove plaque and tartar buildup and polish your teeth as well if needed.

At most, adults can go for two years without going to a dentist. This is if they’re committed to their oral care. Children, however, are recommended to visit a dentist at least once a year because their teeth can decay faster.

Yes. If the tooth can no longer be restored, the dentist will extract the tooth and clear away the abscess to remove the infection.

A majority of dentists recommend a checkup at least every six months. They will give you advice on how to care for children’s developing teeth. But as they get older, it is better to have checkups based on how often the dentist recommends, usually once a year or more depending on the state of your teeth..

Dental exams identify issues before they grow into larger ones, which reduce the overall costs of possible treatments. The dental hygienist will clean any buildup from your teeth, and then they will scan around on surfaces and near the gum line with specialized tools. You may experience sore and sensitive areas if you haven’t had an appointment in a while.

Many people may be afraid of going to a dentist! Because of this, we work hard to alleviate your apprehension with compassionate care and offer a space that is as comfortable and  relaxing as possible. If you have any anxieties regarding this, please talk to us so we can help you.
